HISTORIC VIRGIL FINLAY MARS LANDING FLAG COVER REAL FACT, #6, January, 1947

Inventory No: CHV-022

Issue: 6

Year: 1947

Publisher: D.C.

Description: A STRIKINGLY GORGEOUS AND HISTORICALLY IMPORTANT RARE COMIC BOOK! Has a cover and interior story by the awesome Virgil Finlay. Issue includes the "Origin and first appearance of Tommy Tomorrow" (later known for his Silver Age appearances in Showcase), plus the first printed work of SF superstar Harlan Ellison. American flag cover!!

CONDITION IS SPECTACULAR! CGC grades it 9.0 VERY FINE/NEAR MINT, with cream to off-white pages. As we write this, ours is the 2nd best condition example of RFC #6 that CGC has graded in all its years of operation - only one has ever graded higher. Further, although we have no documentation, we are convinced that this issue is from the famed Lloyd Jacquet collection (as the pencil check mark on the top left corner of the front cover indicates). SCANS: the two full scans turned out rather dark and fuzzy, and have some glare. The actual comic is still bright and beautiful, as we would expect from a CGC 9.0 Golden Age comic!

Grade: 9.0
