Description: THE COVER OF THIS EXTREMELY RARE RELIGIOUS COMIC FINDS JESUS RISING FROM THE DEAD ON EASTER MORNING, THUS PROVING HE IS INDEED THE CHRIST. Although Christmas is more lavishly celebrated, our consignor (a former Altar Boy) notes that it was Christ's Resurrection on Easter that proved he was indeed the Son Of God. The great interior has superstar Chuck White in a tale of his own, plus Dr. Daniels, and also Robin Hood. Most important of all, though, are the religious features. These include a story about beloved Mother Seton ("Of Old New York"), Holy Week, The Feast Of The Annunciation (and the birth of the Hail Mary prayer). The double-page centerfold is perhaps most touching, entitled "The Three Maries At The Tomb." It is based on the historic work of Hubert Van Eyck 1366-1426, who is credited with creating what we now know as the Flemish School of Painting.

An altogether remarkable and extremely rare comic. This rarity, by the way, is presumably due in part to the fact that, although it was possible to subscribe to TC, most Treasure Chests were distributed only by Catholic nuns in Catholic grade schools. Likewise, this comic's rarity must also be attributable in significant part to the fact that it, like every other TC published from v1 #1 until v3 #19, has a pulp cover (the first "slick cover" was released with TC v3 #20). Additionally, this comic's extreme rarity must also be attributable in part to the great centerfold, as the editor suggested to readers that they should cut it out of the comic and mount it for display.

CONDITION: This is unquestionably one of the very best of the few surviving TC v3 #15s. It looks excellent, even though it is over sixty years old. We have counted all the pages, and it is complete. The puzzles have not been touched. There is a tiny printer's tear on the spine's top, and a minute printer's chip on the spine's bottom (please see our large scans, this is very minor and what the comic looked like when new). We grade it VERY FINE/NEAR MINT, with very readable pages (cream edges to nice off-white page centers). It is completely unrestored. SCANS: Because this is an important comic book, we are providing large scans so that everyone can see for themselves just how nice it is. This is a great book! PLEASE NOTE that as we write this, C*C's census states that C*C has never graded ANY example of this Golden Age comic. Since C*C has been grading comics for over ten years, that is a striking indication of just how extraordinarily rare this comic truly is.
